COLLETTE SIMMONS likes wearing many hats. She is a professional dancer, choreographer, voice-over artist, Pilates and Barre instructor, Mom and World Traveler with an undying love for the arts and culture above all else.
Simmons first began performing at The Arkansas Children's Theatre in 1988, acting in over a dozen shows. Since then, she's been dancing, singing, acting and choreographing her way to Broadway and beyond. She received her Bachelors of Performing Arts from Oklahoma City University in Dance Performance and a Master of Arts from New York University - Tisch School of the Arts in Performance Studies.
Simmons' most recent credits include the Broadway hit "Mamma Mia!" in New York. She also worked as an assistant choreographer on various Broadway, off-Broadway and regional productions such as "Children and Art," a benefit honoring Stephen Sondheim; "Ring of Fire," a Johnny Cash musical; "Good Vibrations," a Beach Boys musical; "After The Ball," a Noel Coward and Oscar Wilde musical; "Where's Charley?" at The Goodspeed Opera House; "The Best of the West End" with P&O Cruises; and "The Joys of Sex," an Off-Broadway musical comedy. Additional performing credits include many of the aforementioned shows, serving as a company member with the American Spirit Dance Company, understudying Frenchie in the European tour of "Grease", and the voice of "Shelly, the hermit crab" on a series of HBO/Cinemax commercials. Simmons is a member of Actors' Equity, Stage Directors & Choreographers Society, Performance Studies International, and the Pilates Method Alliance.
Beyond traveling and performing, Simmons indulges a broad variety of interests and activities. She enjoys fine-dining, traveling, healthy eating and cooking, Pilates, yoga, barre classes, reading, hosting parties and more. In her free time, she's an active volunteer with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and The Ronald McDonald House.
